Laura Linney was one of the best American actors to emerge from the past. Her strong and flimsy roles have made her a household brand. Born to a well-known playwright's father but raised by a single mother, who earned her living in the field of nursing, she was drawn to theatre when working with her father during the summer, eventually studying acting, first in Brown University and then at Juilliard School. She began her Broadway career after her graduation in the year 2000, before making her debut on television the following year. She has been featured on a number of shows on stage, television and film shows since that time. During her career she received numerous awards including the two Golden Globe Awards. Although she received many awards through the years, performing has always been her first passion.
