April Lockhart

April Lockhart (born July 4 April, 1995) started her journey in music in the 7th grade when she started guitar and piano classes. In the seventh grade she began to take guitar and piano lessons. The lessons sparked her passion to write songs. When April was 14 years old, she devoted long hours creating song ideas and perfecting her music. She began writing along with her dad in NY and LA within a short time. April began including other topics in Take My Hand for the people in her life who are struggling with peer pressure, disabilities or even suicide. Lockhart is a lifestyle and beauty influencer who has a growing fan base. She is a partner with the popular brand Ilia with whom she has a partnership and is also an expert in the field of lifestyle. Her birth was without a left hand and that is part of her story, but this isn't the whole truth. Lockhart acknowledges her handicap on Instagram, but she isn't making it the focal point of her story. What message is it sending? that we are all a part of a multitude and that we are all unique and that we're much more than our physical selves. I do not want this to define me I don't want to be a disability influencer in which I only speak about since there are other elements to my life. Lockhart states in video form from her house in Nashville. It doesn't impact my daily life. I go about doing my job as normal and have developed different ways of adapting. But it's also a part of me and I feel it's essential to discuss. Self-acceptance can be a marathon for a lifetime however Lockhart is a true inspiration in this regard. Still, she acknowledges going through phases of being uncomfortable with her body, and also feeling uneasy wearing certain clothing styles which showed her arms. Nowadays, she dresses anything she likes and uploads images of her outfits to social networks with a sense of pride. The journey itself is the key thing I'm not certain that it will be an end of self-love. It's true for all regardless of their level of insecurity. I think it's important to surround yourself with people who are able to see and know your true heart.
